The Norwalk Parking Authority’s Art in Parking Places presents Body of Works in Public, the third in the Senses of SoNo series of juried art shows at the Maritime Garage Gallery. The show runs until March 29th.
The exhibits, called Senses of SoNo, feature selected artwork in all media reflecting themes playing on the traditional five senses. They include: sight =urban elements, smell= food, touch=music, taste= fashion, hearing = Long Island Sound. The Body of Works in Public exhibit is in keeping with the theme of the “senses” while playing off the synergy of the exhibit space, which is located in a public parking garage.
Exhibiting artists include Dana Hilty (Wilton), Karl Soderlund (Fairfield), Susan Frey (Stamford), Loren DePalma (Norwalk), Paola Lazarro (Ridgefield), Harry Moritz (Westport), Louise Flax (Norwalk), Paul Hitchens (Massachusetts), Nick Grossmann (Bridgeport). These artists demonstrate a diverse range of technique, medium, and subjects.
The Maritime Garage Gallery is part of the Parking Authority’s “Art in Parking Places” initiative, an effort to support art in public spaces. The gallery is free and open to the public from 9:00am -5:00pm Monday through Friday. For more information, visit www.norwalkpark.org or call 203- 831-9063.
